Talisman Rupee 2
This talisman is created from 925 silver coins dating back to the beginning of the last century and originating from the Indian mint. Minted under the authority of the British Empire, the face of the coin features a representation of the face of UK King George V, Emperor of India from 1910 until his death in 1936. These coins are a tangible legacy of a pivotal period in India's history, combining history, culture and wealth in a small, precious object.
Early 20th century silver coins were not only a medium of exchange, but also a reflection of the economic stability and importance of silver in India's colonial economy. India being a major producer and user of silver, these coins played a crucial role in local and international trade. Moreover, as their value was linked to their precious metal content, they served as a form of savings for many citizens.
