Macramé is an ancient art of weaving using knots to create a fabric. This particular technique, with knots that can be flat for bracelets or necklaces, or raised in volume to make objects such as curtains or sculptures, is used to finish each end of your piece of jewellery before adding the rings and clasp.
A pagan belief is to make knots as an amulet, and on each knot of the talisman is put an intention. This belief is also found among Buddhists with the "Tibetan knot" considered as the "happiness knot" or the "love knot" among Celts.
